Job Summary
This position oversees the maintenance of all manufacturing and facilities equipment. The maintenance supervisor directly supervises all maintenance activities regarding facilities, die, preventive, and predictive maintenance. Coordinates with production supervisors, Engineers, Managers, Directors, Safety and all supports teams to ensure safety, quality, efficiency and company goals are achieved. Assist in strategic planning activities and decision-making. Work on improvement development projects including: project initiation/proposal, development, writing Capital expenditure requests (CER’s), bidding and proposal activities, contractual work, Statements of work (SOW), Request for quotes (RFQ), create requisitions and follow thru project implementation within budget. The maintenance supervisor also implements contractual work processes to assist on equipment maintenance and project activities. Assist on keeping Annual maintenance operations with in budget. Responsible for maintaining staffing levels to satisfy production needs and productivity requirements. Maintains all maintenance schedules while insuring that all personnel complies and follows safety rules, regulations, company’s policies and procedures for. The Maintenance Supervisor monitors & mentors quality and safe performance to achieve facility machinery and equipment is properly maintain for optimum performance. Responsibilities also include, interviewing, hiring, determining employee work assignments, employee training, assigning/directing work objectives, employee discipline and appraising employee performance. Addressing complains and resolving problems at all levels in maintenance and manufacturing. Manage change and contingencies while proposing solutions. The maintenance supervisor is a strong advocate for the needs of manufacturing and the company as a whole, and support staff in a manner consistent with stated performance objectives. Assists the Maintenance Manager in managing the department to develop and utilize a total maintenance management system, operates and maintains the computerized maintenance managements system.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises all maintenance personnel in achieving company and departmental goals while understanding the priorities of safety, quality, and production.
  • Supervise and inspect the quality of workmanship and follows-up by giving feedback with constructive criticism and training as needed.
  • Develops schedules and maintains them for all functions of maintenance.
  • Follows up on the setting of proper priorities using customer information and agreements as guidelines.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time effectively, plans for additional resources, sets goals and objectives, organizes or schedules other people to accomplish a tasks, develops realistic plans.
  • Make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, includes appropriate people in decision-making process, and makes timely decisions.
  • Follows policies and procedures, completes administrative tasks correctly and on time, supports organizational goals, values and objectives.
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure, accepts responsibility and follows through on commitments.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote safety, and quality, and applies feedback to improve performance.
  • Be flexible to work as assigned and supports maintenance and manufacturing requirements as necessary.
  • Observes safety procedures, reports and/or corrects potentially unsafe conditions, conducts safety meetings and conducts communication meetings with work team.
  • Manage the computerized maintenance management system by maintaining, approving and issuing work orders to the appropriate skilled mechanic.
  • Follows-up on returned and completed work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in completing pressing tasks to bring back production in a safe and expedited manner.
  • Coach, mentor and develop direct and indirect reports.
  • Delegates work assignments, sets expectations and monitors delegated activities, provides recognition for results.
  • Train maintenance and others in specialty Safety Maintenance functions.
  • Solicits contact and maintains good relations with all customers addressing their concerns and needs, and by giving feedback on estimated completion dates.
  • Assess the training needs of all maintenance personnel, seeking methods to meet those needs, and sets training schedules while following up on progress.
  • Hold regular safety and daily meetings to discuss and inform the personnel about safety and general issues or concerns. 
  • Submit Request for Quotes (RFQ) for contracted services through Purchasing following the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) utilizing a fair reasonable pricing selection for contracted services.
  • Generates and manages the department’s Capital Expense Request (CER), Management of Change (MOC), and request for Quotes (RFQ), Statement of Work (SOW), Purchase Requisitions (PR),
  • Develops Time-Line Charts (Gantt) as needed. Plans, coordinates and executes facilities work during shutdowns.
  • Process contract work for maintenance on equipment and project activities.
  • Generate; distribute execute and provide feedback of planned weekend work and service orders performed, including feedback on statuses of pending service orders not completed during the assigned week. 
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and lead special requests issued to the Maintenance Department.  This may include but not limited to; Safety Action Request, Engineering Projects, Capital Projects, updates to Manufacturer’s Standard Practice Instructions and Standard Practice Manuals.
  • Creates and submits weekly facilities and maintenance reports to management.
  • Coordinates with manufacturing, technology and safety departments with modifications, installations, repairs and qualifications of new and existing tooling and/or equipment.

Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of maintenance management experience
  • Must have good supervisor skills.
  • Ability to read, analyzed, and interpret general business reports.
  • Ability to write reports, procedures, MSPI’s.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and have an excellent mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various teams.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Multi-craft maintenance operations experience that includes preventive maintenance, planning, scheduling, executing, and monitoring.
  • Ability to read and understand/interpret blue prints.
  • Knowledge in industrial maintenance functions.
  • Ability to supervise a multi-skilled maintenance crew.
  • Knowledge in computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Keeps records of department activities as require.
  • Must have knowledge and skills in usage of computers and various software programs. Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Must have good planning and organizing skills.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.

Education & Professional Work Experience Requirements
  • 4-Year college degree or equivalent experience in Business Management, Project Management, Facility Management and/or 10 year of Maintenance Supervision experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
