Job Summary
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance of all production and facility equipment
- Use various test equipment and be able to interpret PLC ladder logic to troubleshoot production machines and facility systems
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings
- Lead electronic design, layout, minor drafting, fabrication, assembly, debugging and repairs of electronics, instrumentation, motor controls and pneumatic devices
- Lead and/or assist on special projects including building special production equipment as necessary
- Lead/assist electrical installations to include conduit runs, wire pulling and terminal landing
- Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools and mobile equipment
- Machining and/or fabrication (welding) capabilities are a plus
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Complete work orders and preventive maintenance functions in ERP system
- Maintain an inspection and preventive maintenance schedule
- Requisition parts and materials as needed
- On call for rare after-hours emergency service
- Perform other plant related activities as directed
Qualifications
- Knowledge of safe work practices and ability to act competently in emergencies
- Ability to maneuver underneath and/or above equipment in narrow spaces
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach for potentially long periods
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours
- Capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination is required
- Ability to cope with exposure to noise and dust
- The ability to read, write and comprehend the English language, comprehend written and oral directions and follow standard procedures for safety
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
- Technical and/or mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to work well with others
- Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of machine shop functions to include machining, welding, drilling, cutting, grinding, metal bending and other types of fabrication
- Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Must be a US person
Education/Previous Experience Requirement
- High School diploma/GED desired
- Junior College or Technical School desired
- 5 years of related industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
