Job Summary
Responsible for Quality Assurance functions for ARO and the development of processes control to make sure the product meets customer requirements, as well as the performance is predictable and stable.  Serves as the company ISO 9000 Management Representative and manages the audit function.  Serves as principal contact with Government representatives concerning quality matters.  Provides a Configuration Management System.  Coordinates the quality related activities of the company including Supplier, In-Process and Test.  Manages the calibration system and the product analysis function.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provides Leadership for problem solving efforts on process and supplier issues as well as customer concerns.
  • Supervises Quality Manager, Auditing, and Configuration Management functions.
  • Is responsible for developing and leading Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence and SPC activities throughout the company.
  • Identifies areas to collect data for key processes for data analysis, promoting immediate actions to address quality issues, driving them to resolution.
  • Develops and implements an effective corrective/preventive action system to prevent recurrence of production, quality and system deficiencies. 
  • Professionally coordinates with customer and government representatives on quality requirements. 
  • Provides effective initial and continual Contract review for Quality Assurance specifications and adherence. 
  • Prepares budget for Quality Assurance activities and operates within the budgets. 
  • Manages the functions involved in the quality program in formulating their goals and in training personnel. 
  • Generates Management Reports on the progress of the Quality program. 
  • Coordinates the ISO 9000 Quality requirements as Management Representative of the Quality System.
  • Operates an effective auditing system.  
  • Manages an effective Configuration Management program, Contract Review, Supplier Quality System, In-Process Quality Assurance, Product Testing and Calibration program and Analytical Lab.
  • Ensures that all QA related contract requirements are properly and timely evaluated for successful inclusion in proposals and for subsequent incorporation following contract award.
  • Ensures that all QA requirements for the business, whether they be government or corporate or other, are professionally met.
  • Maintains the highest ethical standards.
  • Understands and operates by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies.
Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate an outstanding degree of judgment, organization, planning, initiative, flexibility and creativity. 
  • Must be able to perform calmly and reasonably under pressure from demand for production and other exigencies. 
  • Must be resourceful and very creative.
  • Physical requirements include walking up and down steps, to buildings between various programs as the situation warrants. 
  • 5 years’ or more experience with DoD Contracts

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
  • BS degree, preferably in Engineering, and five - ten years experience in Quality Assurance with three – five years in Management.
  • Knowledge of Government specifications and ISO 9000 requirements.
  • Self motivated starter demonstrating maturity with responsibilities and analytical skills. 
  • Good communication skills and high degree of integrity. 
  • Able to interface and work productively with all employees. 
  • Ability to read and write English and compute college level mathematics, including statistics. 
  • Strong interest in pure and applied research to improve product quality and reduce operational costs in all stages of Quality and Manufacturing. 
  • Sound ability in technical writing.
